Job Description:
- Inventory, analyze, and evaluate the current state of content on enterprise websites
- Create site maps, schematics, process maps, feature lists, mockups, visual specification, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience
- Employ user-centered design processes to ensure that information is useful and usable
- Engage with stakeholders to help them implement web standards/templates correctly, particularly in the areas of information architecture and interaction design
- Communicate and document design decisions effectively using images and text
- Explore and select visual / physical representations of content or features
- Develop hierarchical classification systems for navigation or other categorization needs
- Help run weekly design reviews, record meeting minutes and track action items
Skills Required:
- BA/BS or equivalent, plus 2-3 years of experience developing digital products such as websites, CD-ROMs, or software (a degree in a related field such as technical communications, human-computer interaction, library science, graphic design, or industrial design is considered a bonus)
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Good meeting facilitation and presentation skills
- Good negotiation and decision-making skills
- Strong people skills (active and receptive influencing skills) a must. Ability to build relationships across stakeholder community - to influence, coordinate, and negotiate within cross-functional teams across the organization.
- Good leadership skills
- Business-level understanding of Web technologies
- Ability to develop and evolve long-term business strategies while consistently driving tactical projects
- Strong business acumen and an understanding of business processes
- Experience observing user research and/or translating user research into design decisions
The following skills are highly desirable:
- Ability to convert wire frames into functional HTML/CSS prototypes
- Able to create tableless CSS layouts that are functional on all browser types
- Strong knowledge of CSS
- Experience with AJAX
