Job Description:
  • Inventory, analyze, and evaluate the current state of content on enterprise websites
  • Create site maps, schematics, process maps, feature lists, mockups, visual specification, working prototypes and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience
  • Employ user-centered design processes to ensure that information is useful and usable
  • Engage with stakeholders to help them implement web standards/templates correctly, particularly in the areas of information architecture and interaction design
  • Communicate and document design decisions effectively using images and text
  • Explore and select visual / physical representations of content or features
  • Develop hierarchical classification systems for navigation or other categorization needs
  • Help run weekly design reviews, record meeting minutes and track action items
Skills Required:
  • BA/BS or equivalent, plus 2-3 years of experience developing digital products such as websites, CD-ROMs, or software (a degree in a related field such as technical communications, human-computer interaction, library science, graphic design, or industrial design is considered a bonus)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Good meeting facilitation and presentation skills
  • Good negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Strong people skills (active and receptive influencing skills) a must. Ability to build relationships across stakeholder community - to influence, coordinate, and negotiate within cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • Good leadership skills
  • Business-level understanding of Web technologies
  • Ability to develop and evolve long-term business strategies while consistently driving tactical projects
  • Strong business acumen and an understanding of business processes
  • Experience observing user research and/or translating user research into design decisions
The following skills are highly desirable:
  • Ability to convert wire frames into functional HTML/CSS prototypes
  • Able to create tableless CSS layouts that are functional on all browser types
  • Strong knowledge of CSS
  • Experience with AJAX
