XUI 2.2 Integrates Graphing Engine and Framework-wide Drag-and-Drop

JWAY released XUI 2.2 on December 29, 2004.

The highlight of XUI 2.2 release is the full implementation of the drag-and-drop functionality across various components of the framework: tabbedpanes, trees and tables. Another key architecture direction in XUI 2.2 involves integrating a graphing engine using Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) to render dynamic bar, pie, and line charts.

As with every release, pushing the XUI performance envelope was an important deliverable in XUI 2.2 to provide faster and richer UI. Performance of complex components like xtable, xtree, xtabbedpane and xmenubar are significantly improved by 30-50%. Other detailed UI enhancements to various existing components ensure designers pixel perfect widgets ready to use in any web application.

XUI 2.2 New Features:

Full implementation of Drag-and-Drop API across applicable containers and components
Integration of a reporting/graphing engine using SVG.
Updated XTable:
- Runtime addition/deletion of rows
- Updatable cells
Updated XTree:
- Lazy-loading support
- On demand sorting capabilities
- Ability to dynamically Add, Update, and Delete nodes
Updated XSplitpane
- Stability across the different browsers
- Resizable pane while keeping the integrity of the layout.
Updated XTabbedpane
- Enhanced performance by at least 50%
- Tab management through drag-and-dropping tabs or enabling and disabling.
Floating Toolbar (Vertical or Horizontal).
New edition of online tutorial, documentation and reference
Enhanced XUI Tag Library for Macromedia Dreamweaver (to include tutorial snippets)

- Solaris: Netscape Navigator 7.2, Mozilla 1.6 and 1.7, Firefox 0.8 and 1.0
- Windows 2000 and XP: New support for Netscape Navigator 7.2, Mozilla 1.7 and Firefox 1.0
- Linux: New support for Netscape Navigator 7.2, Mozilla 1.7 and Firefox 1.0
